Hot on the heels of Christina Aguilera comes another highly-anticipated concert, as multi-platinum international artist Josh Groban visits Manila for the first time. Smart INfinity, in association with MTV Philippines, brings Josh Groban: Live at the PICC on Oct. 17 and 18. The concert is also presented in cooperation with Rado, Music Management International and
The Philippine STAR.
A few weeks ago, Groban created a stir in the region when it was announced that his Asian tour was canceled. But thanks to the efforts of MTV's Francis Kumen and Rhiza Pascua of Music Management International, the Philippines was granted the honor of being the only country that will host Groban in the region this year.
Groban burst onto the international music scene in 2001 with the release of his self-titled debut album featuring the hit single, To Where You Are. His follow-up CD Closer witht he smash hit You Raise Me Up brought enormous success to the young singing sensation. He has made scores of TV appearances beginning with Ally McBeal and continuing with countless performances on Oprah, Good Morning America, The Today Show, two PBS specials, the Superbowl, the Oscars and the closing ceremonies of the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics with an audience of over two billion people.
The Oct. 17 gala night is a by-invitation-only event. Only 3,000 tickets will be for sale for the Oct. 18 concert at the PICC Plenary Hall. Tickets will be on sale in the coming weeks.
